As the partner-in-charge of Fordham & Co LLP’s financial services, Lester assists individuals in running their organizations more a profitably and in integrating their professional and personal financial strategies.
Lester joined Fordham & Fordham, a CPA firm founded by his father, in 1975. He worked in all areas of the firm, from individual tax preparation to audits for the firm’s largest commercial and not-for-profit clients, before becoming a partner in 1982. During 2000, Fordham & Fordham merged with Goodfellow Consulting to form Fordham & Co LLP. The merger allowed Fordham & Co LLP to offer a broader array of services, including technology consulting.
Since the merger, Lester has ensured that Fordham & Co LLP’s service offerings continue to keep pace with and anticipate client demands. Lester has been instrumental in establishing the firm’s family-owned business practice group and its financial services group, which provides insurance, and financial planning assistance to Fordham & Co LLP clients. His experience working in a family-owned business has allowed Lester to truly understand and identify with the issues many of his clients face.
Lester’s progressive ideas for client strategies and for Fordham & Co LLP service offerings come from the broad perspective he’s gained as an industry leader at the state and national and international levels. He began his activism in the accounting industry in 1985 with the Oregon Society of CPAs. Since then, he has served on a number of committees for the Society and State Board of Accountancy. In addition, Lester has served on the Peer Review Board and associated task forces for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and has been involved with drafting a number of professional pronouncements on standards and quality control for the accounting industry.
Since the firm joined BKR International, an association of more than 160 independent accounting and business advisory firms with over 500 offices in more than 80 countries, Lester has been past chairman of its Americas Region Board and has served on the board of directors of the BKR International World Board. He also has chaired its SEC Practice Group, International Standards Committee and Americas Region Standards Committee.
Lester’s involvement with accounting firms across the country and around the world provides his clients with global resources and “best practices” they can leverage to improve their personal financial positions.
